Nandos Nutrition Calculator

Published onMay 21, 2026 Updated onOctober 25, 2026 1:09 am

Nando’s built its name on flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken, which makes it one of the easier fast-casual chains to eat well at, but the sides and extras decide whether your meal stays lean. This Nando’s nutrition calculator builds your exact order, up to six lines, and totals the calories, protein, carbs, fat, and salt, with each total shown against the day’s reference values.

Independent tool, not affiliated with Nando’s. Calculator Zilo is not connected to Nando’s, and Nando’s has not endorsed this page. Menu values below are standard-recipe UK values; menus and recipes change, portions vary by restaurant, and Nando’s own current nutrition guide is the final word for your order.

Nando’s Nutrition Calculator

Build your exact order: calories, protein, carbs, fat, and salt for up to six lines.

Values are standard-recipe UK values. Totals exclude basting sauce, which adds a small amount depending on heat. Salt is shown in grams; UK guidance is no more than 6 g of salt a day for adults.

Your meal total

Totals are the sum of each item times quantity, using standard-recipe UK per-item nutrition. Basting sauce is not included in these totals. Daily shares use a 2,000 kcal reference day and the UK 6 g daily salt maximum for adults.

Quick Answer

A classic lean order of 1/4 chicken, spicy rice, and corn on the cob totals about 821 kcal with 45 g of protein, 95 g of carbs, 28 g of fat, and 2.3 g of salt, which is 41% of a 2,000 kcal day and 38% of the 6 g daily salt maximum. Swap the rice for macho peas and a side salad and the same meal drops to roughly 626 kcal with 47 g of protein and 2.0 g of salt. Build your exact order in the tool above for the full breakdown.

How the meal builder adds up your order

Pick a category, pick the item, set the quantity, and repeat for up to six lines. The calculator sums each line from standard-recipe UK per-item nutrition and shows calories, protein, carbs, fat, and salt, plus calories as a share of a 2,000 kcal day and salt as a share of the 6 g daily maximum. The formula is simple on purpose: total equals the sum of each item times its quantity. Nothing is estimated from your weight, age, or activity level, because a meal total does not need those inputs.

Two honest limits are built into the tool. First, basting sauce is not included in the totals: the heat you choose adds a small amount on top, and the tool does not pretend otherwise. Second, these are standard-recipe values, so your tray will vary a little by restaurant and portioning. If you want to see how the same meal-building idea works at a fried-chicken chain, our KFC nutrition calculator totals a KFC order the same way, and our pizza nutrition calculator does the same for pizza orders.

Three Nando's orders, side by side

The main is only half the story. These three full meals show how sides swing the total:

OrderCaloriesProteinSalt
Lean: 1/4 chicken plus side salad plus corn49139 g1.4 g
Classic: 1/2 chicken plus spicy rice plus PERi chips1,41380 g4.3 g
Heavy: Sunset Burger plus PERi chips plus PERinaise1,32742 g4.0 g

The lean order keeps protein high while staying under 500 kcal. The classic order nearly triples the calories mostly through the chips and rice, and the heavy order shows how a burger plus two extras climbs past 1,300 kcal before a drink. Build any of these in the tool to check the full carb and fat breakdown.

Where the salt hides

Calories get the attention, but salt is the quiet budget breaker at Nando's. UK guidance caps adults at 6 g of salt a day, and salt is not the same number as sodium on a label: salt equals sodium times 2.5, so a label showing 2.4 g of sodium means 6 g of salt. A whole chicken alone carries 4.8 g of salt, which is 80% of the daily maximum before a side or a sauce. Corn on the cob, at 0.1 g, is the lowest-salt side in the tool, and a side salad is just as low. The creamy extras add salt quietly too: PERinaise adds 0.5 g a serving on top of its 159 kcal. That is why this calculator shows salt for every meal, when most Nando's tools skip it entirely.

Ordering lean: swaps that actually work

Keep the flame-grilled chicken. A quarter chicken is under 300 kcal with over 30 g of protein; the grill is doing the work that frying does elsewhere. Trade chips for macho peas or corn: regular PERi chips run about 460 kcal, macho peas are roughly 290 (a saving of about 170 kcal), and corn is about 155 (a saving of about 305 kcal). Watch the creamy extras: PERinaise adds about 159 kcal a serving, while the standard PERi drizzle adds about 97. Hot sauce itself adds almost nothing, which is why heat is the cheapest flavour on the menu. Drink water: a regular cola adds 140 kcal and 35 g of sugar to a meal that was doing fine without it.

For a low-carb day, plain grilled chicken is a natural fit, and the tool makes that easy to check: a half chicken plus macho peas totals 863 kcal with 78 g of protein and 36 g of carbs. If you track carbs closely, our keto calorie calculator sets daily targets you can compare a Nando's meal against.

What other Nando's calculators miss

Typical Nando's tools show calories only, with no protein, carbs, fat, or salt breakdown. Several mix US and UK menu data, which do not match item for item, so a meal total built from mixed data is wrong in ways the reader cannot see. And several give one static example meal instead of letting you build your own order.

This calculator totals calories, protein, carbs, fat, and salt with shares of the day for calories and salt. It uses one consistent dataset, standard-recipe UK values, with the source and its limits stated on the page. It lets you build any six-line order and re-totals it at once. And it states plainly what it does not do: no basting calories, no invented meal verdicts, just your order added up against reference values you can check.

Frequently Asked Questions

It can be. Flame-grilled chicken is lean protein with no batter and no deep fryer, which is a better starting point than most fast food. Whether the meal stays healthy depends on the sides: chips, garlic bread, and creamy extras add calories fast, while salad, corn, and macho peas keep it light. Salt is the thing to watch either way, since a whole chicken alone is 80% of the daily salt maximum.

A quarter chicken with a side salad and corn on the cob lands around 491 kcal with nearly 40 g of protein. The grilled chicken burger on its own is about 443 kcal. Avoiding chips and sugary drinks is what keeps any Nando's order low.

Half a chicken delivers roughly 66 g of protein for about 573 kcal, one of the best protein-per-calorie ratios on the menu. Four boneless thighs give about 52 g of protein. Pair either with macho peas (about 12 g protein) rather than chips.

Only a little, and this tool does not include basting in its totals, so the number you see is before sauce. The basting adds a small amount depending on heat; hotter bastings add a little more than milder ones. If you count strictly, add a small allowance for sauce on top of the tool total and check Nando's current guide for the latest figures.

Plain grilled chicken works well: a quarter chicken has about 1 g of carbs. The problem is the sides, since spicy rice, chips, and pitta are all carb heavy. Stick to chicken with salad or corn and check the carb total in the tool before you order.

They are standard-recipe UK values, so they are planning numbers, not lab measurements of your tray. Portions, skin, and preparation vary by restaurant. Menus also change over time: items and recipes in this tool reflect the UK menu values it was built from, so if an item has changed or left the menu, check Nando's current nutrition guide and treat any changed item with caution.

Because the UK and US menus differ item for item, and mixing them produces totals that match neither menu. This tool uses one consistent UK dataset throughout. US readers should treat the totals as a guide to a UK-style order, not as their local menu.
